THE TEMPEST, July 23-August 2, 2026

I am directing Shakespeare's The Tempest at the beautiful, intimate Theater at Woodshill this summer!

An enchanted island. A vengeful magician. An orchestrated shipwreck...

William Shakespeare penned The Tempest near the close of his career - in fact, some say it was his farewell to the stage. Into this final flourish he poured everything: betrayal and redemption, fatherly love and youthful romance, the illusion of power and the freedom that comes with letting go - all imbued with a heaping spoonful of magic. With his quill, Shakespeare conjures a magical island where spirits dance, monsters dream, and one man’s desire for vengeance is transformed into an act of mercy.
